Hawaii Medical Cannabis Visitors
Reciprocity (accepting non-Hawaii medical cannabis cards) is expected to begin January 2019.
Pacific Business News reports, "Hawaii inches closer to establishing medical marijuana reciprocity program."
While "Hawaii’s reciprocity law went into effect in January (2018)...the state has yet to implement a registration process for out-of-state cardholders."
Hawaii Bill HB2729, which includes a registration process for out-of-state cardholders, has passed both House and Senate and is sitting on the Governor's desk. Unless vetoed by the Governor, the bill will become law July 1, 2018.
The State Registry still needs to create the technology to oversee and enforce the reciprocity process. Estimated completion date is January 2019.
To purchase medicine while in Hawaii there will be a process that should be completed prior to arrival in the islands. We will send an email with instructions for reciprocity in the coming months. If you'd like updates please provide your email below.
Mahalo for your patience in this matter.
